Rainbow Week
I found the most colourful cake ever in Teacup in Manchester! Their rosebud tea was the best I have tasted too.
This was a little slice I brought back with me of their Rainbow Cake made like a Battenburg Cake with marzipan.
A guest arrived with a “scarf” which kept breaking. It turned out to be wool roving, so I took it apart according to colour groups.
And began to felt it in the laundry room adding a few sparkly threads in the same colours.
It was a messy process as some colour shed in the boiling soapy water.
I dried it flat outside.
Greens to blues
Blues to purples
Purples to reds
Reds to yellows
Yellows to greens.
Greens.
I made it as lightweight as I dared so it would wrap well like a normal scarf.
It was gorgeously soft.
The Fairy Tale blocks are bonded ready to sew in Autumn evenings.
I have made a start on the “In Full Bloom” stitcheries.

My thought for the week:
Mary Engelbreit — ‘Walk towards the sunshine, and the shadows will fall behind you.’
There is a pic here.
