Bit of an update Craft Olympics Special entry
Daughter is now back from Peru. She has made a photo blog here.
Son is now 18. It was a bitter sweet moment knowing that I am now the mother of adults.
I have been sock knitting to get flexibility in my little finger.
The physiotherapist was amazed at my progress but getting to bend that last little bit on a regular basis has been frustrating.
Beautiful wool from Finland.
I bought it when meeting Ulla.
I have also learned how to make felt flowers from scratch with the wet felting technique. This is a “Special” entry for the Craft Olympics:
Silk fibres which shine in the top layer.
Cloud colours in a mix with tops as stamen.
Centre of a sunflower.
A poppy made from offcuts from a sunflower.
I also made stems and spiral stems which I sewed onto a metal wreath instead of standing them in a pot.
A rose made like the ones in the Tilda book, once I had made the felt.
The children had made one side of this felt years ago, so I just did an extra layer to make the centre bright. Tops for stamen.
Sunflower and poppy.
And finally the socks above out of Zig Zag and Finnish wool leftovers, and the socks below from left over browns, creams and a bit of grey left over Finnish wool.
I am sorry for having such a long blog break. Life has been overtaking me. I will share my travels as soon as I can. Sorry for not visiting in so long. Blogland has been in my thoughts. Hopefully I can visit soon.
