Charity Blocks, needlecase

Daughter finally took “the ruby slippers” off so here’s a look at the gorgeous inside. Silver like a wedding doilie with red and cream dots.
Simone sent instructions with the fabric for the charity quilts. As I had never done these designs I played with my own fabric making them first. Ring Around The Roses.
And Courtyard Square.
I used a sewing theme fabric for my centres.
And a fruit themed pink fabric.
These are the ones I have sent back to Simone so she can join them to the ones she has sent to other people. She is hoping to have 2 quilts in the end- one for a boy (these 2 blocks) and one for a girl.
I hope I did it right- this is my 1st go at joining a charity quilt making.
This however is the 2nd time I have made this needlecase- sewing tidy. Angel’s Wish book by Lynette Anderson for those who would like to make it too. The first was for Candace in the Christmas in July Swap last year. I wanted to make one for me but have only just found the time.
I made it in purple and dark cream as it is for me and added a little pewter greyhound to the needle area.
The scissors go in this pocket which I lined in dark cream.
And pens, thread, etc in these 4 pockets.
I made a matching wool felt pincushion too with a cotton stripey heart.
Here’s the front.
An angel holding my initial on the front cover when it is all folded up.
Now I feel a little more organised for 2010 classes.
