Back Again- progress and little finishes

I’d got to this point in the craft room and packed the blocks ready to go on my 1st ever stitching retreat to help celebrate a friend’s 50th birthday.

Some close ups of the centre section which was to stay at home to remind me of how I had sewn some of the sections.

Things felt less crazy busy in the craft room with Verandah Views sewn together bar the borders. It’s a free BOM by Cheryl Goss at Willowberry Designs.
The Christmas Quilt has it’s borders but I’m not sure about the outer one. Maybe pink flamingos to go with the whole “Santa does the tropics” colour theme?
But my bags are packed. Daughter kindly pointed out that yes my crafts and chemicals were packed but what was I intending to wear. Oer! Quick scramble through the clothes drawers. I know these ladies well but not THAT well!
A trip upthe motorway to the Lakes and we arrive at “Staddlestones”
A place big enough for all 9 of us.
With a wonderful upper balcony. My room is the bottom left in the picture.

The balcony had views of Lake Windermere.
2 sets of french doors led out to the balcony
We could all sit and laugh together here.
Sew and eat together here.
To celebrate the birthday we had a banquet delivered.
Strawberries in champagne
The birthday cake was decorated with a lady sewing a quilt.
We did a little sewing too- a project a day, when we could stop laughing enough to put a needle in.
I worried a little about coming back down to reality after such a wonderful time but just look what was waiting for me- “Cinnamon Inspirations” -the latest book from the Cinnamon Patch
My fav pages.
I think there are a few more things in here I ought to add to my ever growing To Do List. Daughter’s birthday then Christmas present making 1st though. 🙂
