New Leaf

Seasonal image from Sherlock Holmes episode on TV.

With the New Year comes the time of new promises to oneself. I thought I would have a go:
Finish what I start
Make more from what I have
(I am determined to use more of my yarn and fabric stash)
Say yes more often to my children
(they wont be children wanting me around for much longer)
Clear out what is not beautiful or useful

Plan ahead more often
(Christmas comes each year, only I’m sure a month gets forgotten)
Live consciously and with purpose

Laugh especially when things go wrong
(and not the scarey hysterical sort)
Set a good example
(do not swear or jump up and down on project gone wrong)
Appreciate what I have already
See the beauty around me.

Sorry no real pics. Hopefully I will have been gadding about by my next post. Son has been sharing his lurge and I got a persistant migraine which left me Saturday morning.

I have some recommendations for films:
August Rush– urban fairy tale- I don’t know how we missed this at the cinema.
Curse of the Golden Flower -Chinese with subtitles – sets are lavish with gorgeous costumes
Shrek -animation suitable for all ages.
Tom’s Midnight Garden -older children’s classic
On Golden Pond– Hepburn older and family relationships
Box of Delights -John Mansfield classic fantasy for children -BBC did a radio version over Christmas
The Amazing Mr Blunden– classic film made in the 1970s
The Muppet Christmas Carol- all ages fun with the usual muppets
Nightmare Before Christmas– older children Tim Burton -Halloween town take over Christmas
Wallace and Gromit (all)– all ages-models based in Lancashire adventures

I hope you New Year Adventures have been fun. I’ll be over soon to see and catch up.
