Autumn Decorating and September Makings
Hello Autumn!
I celebrated my favourite season this year by getting the decorations out.
I didn’t have the time or energy last year to do it,
so it was a joyful greeting of old friends, when I put these out.
You probably remember some of these quilts.
This one is all in felt and backed on a thick old wool travelling rug.
Squirrels and crows galore.
And a miniature Pumpkin Pie.
In the hallway are a few more things.
A bit more Halloween themed
as Trick or Treaters will see them.
Faith Hope Love.
I haven’t made a lot lately but it was good to make these wet felted pot covers. I hadn’t tried a 3d shape like this before. The idea was for a bag but then I thought that I had a cream bag already.
In the evenings I’ve been making a Sea Throw in crochet using a ripple pattern by Attic 24.
It fits an Ikea chair with enough to throw over your lap on cold evenings. (Single bed size.)
I used 8 colours moving the even numbered ones by one each colour repeat.
It gave a random look like the sea without being truly random.
Lastly here is Saltwater Taffy by Stephanie Dunphy from the fabulous book “Uncommonly Corduroy“
It is a kaleidoscope quilt backed in navy the blue is denim, the turquoise and pink are a linen blend and the yellow is a cotton. A great way to use up denim scraps.
So if you haven’t bought the book yet, give it a try- it has quilts, bags and even a matching scarf to a bag. It would make a great gift too for a fellow crafting friend.
