More Elephants and North Marine Lake
We have a guest at the moment who is interested in sewing.
I showed her how to make her own kit: scissor and project case, needle book, and a pin cushion.
I think they are excellent 1st attempts at so many skills including quilting.
All fabrics are Laurel Burch elephants, waves and mermaids.
As the sun is shining I thought you might like to walk around the North part of the Marine Lake with Squeak.
The Marine Bridge and Plaza from a different angle.
Past the yacht clubs.
We are walking where the sea once was within living memory.
When these Victorian houses were built they had clear views of the sea and boats moored.
Canadian Geese
Greylag geese and gorgeous fluffy goslings.
Mute Swan.
The Convalescent Home (right) where people came to take the curative waters of the sea.
Let’s walk around to there.
Here we are having walked by the dunes. The sea is on the other side of them at full tide (rare).
Promenade Hospital Convalescent Home (links to old photo).
The Lake’s paddle boat is parked for the night.
The former pump house which took the sea water to the basement of the Convalescent Home is now an inn.
“The Smallest Pub in Britain.”
Squeak enjoyed the walk. I hope you did too.
