Tissue Elf PDF! and other makings
It is the season for coughs and sneezes so what better than to have your very own Tissue Elf bearing a hot drink and hanky on a tissue box? I think it would make a great practical gift to a friend who is under the weather.
I will send it to anyone in return for a donation to Laura’s Practical Action charity. She needs to raise £700 by the end of the month to keep in the programme which will send her to Peru in August. So far she has £545. Just give what you like. I think the minimum is £2 on the site. Every £ helps.
Just click on this link and click the donate button on the right just under the star symbol.
Thank you!
My left foot got hurt on Thursday, so Friday saw me playing with my Christmas jigsaws.
The 2 go together side by side as you can see. The hounds thought I was mad and the pieces weren’t edible so they weren’t interested in “helping” thankfully.
Upstairs in the craft room I pieced a quilt top called Elfin Patch. I bought it at the Birmingham quilt show from a shop called Quilter’s Haven. Instead of their plain border, I used Papillion charm squares as I had a lot left over from the 9 patches.
I made a pieced back using left over Petite Odile, Athill Range and Papillion charm squares.
The houses reminded me of Clarice Cliffe “Bizarre” pottery from the 1930s.
I can see the pattern working well in orange, yellow and green thread.
So now I have my 1st wallhanging of 2013 to put on the bare walls.
The soft colours go well with the throw for the footstool I sit on to type at the computer.
I think they suit the colours I am seeing in the sunrises and sunsets.
I hope you like the Tissue Elf. The pdf has a lot of photographs as well as numbered instructions to make the project a success for you.
Thank you once again for your past generosity with Elf Pond.
