Precious 28 November + Chrissidecks Day!

Precious “Heart of Mine” born 6th June 2003- 28 November 2011
These are photos from her last walk. We pottered along the beach as it wasn’t too windy.
 Then along the bowling green.
View of the Royal Clifton Hotel.
Marine Bridge and the new Ramada Hotel.
In the 1930s when there was a Venetian Ball at the hotel, those in masked fancy dress costumes walked to their gondalas via those steps.
 Lamp on the Lake Bridge.
It was probably the best day in weeks as it wasn’t raining or blowing a gale.
Thankfully she went downhill very fast and we did the best thing for her. She is missed by us all. She was such a daft little thing. When we had her she tried walking on water and then forgot to swim. I’d never known a dog so dim. 🙂 Like most greyhounds she was so sweet natured.
So you’ve probably been wondering if I’ve dropped of the planet. Well I’ve been making chilli of the nose watering variety.
There’s also been a hideous amount of secret makings, but this I can show you as Anne Marie now has it. I had to make it when I saw it as it made me laugh. Yes Winter is best spent at home stitching, however here we were both well away from home meeting one another in London. I will share so pics of Camden Market where we met up next time.
 Here is the whole wallhanging.
The stars is a fabric Anne Marie gave to me but it was perfect with the gold star background fabric and the gold holly leaves. I still have some left for myself too.
As promised here are the pics of the half landing all stripped and varnished.
And the mainstairs. You can see that the edges are lighter where they were covered in paint. As soon as the shops have re-stocked with varnish I will do an extra coat or 2 to bring the colour  up to match the centres.
Remember this blast from the past? Thimbleberries Village Green in the Dawn colourway. I had patterns 1-7 but not 8-12, so I drank enough coffee for my brain to get in gear and worked out how to make the missing blocks.
So there you have the centre all finished.
Today I added 6 borders to make it a generous double size. I didn’t follow the pattern for that as it used 2 saw toothed borders and I didn’t have enough green. If you look at the top right you will see that I ran out of the light purple in the 3rd border so had to use some dark purple. I will put the finish date in this area so it doesn’t look so bad. It feels like a weight is off my mind now that and the stairs are done.

I would like to know though how I lost a couple of days in November. I could’ve sworn that Chrissidecks Day wasn’t until Friday. The varnish was only just dry on the stairs when the boxes of Christmas Decorations came down. I will tell you all about the mis-haps next time. Hopefully I wont be away for so long.
