Back again, knitting and sewing and thanks.

Remember I won this gorgeous crazy patchwork pumpkin which was a prize in Stephanie of Loft Creations String project? It is made by Kaaren of The Painted Quilt.
I sent her a little thank you- Autumn themed too- fabric and an embroidered t towel. Thank you Kaaren.
Another thank you goes to Karen of Messy Karen -a great Wavy Wiper. She sells them too now on Etsy. Pop over. Thank you Karen.
A parcel came from Suzie too of Little Busy Bee. She was in Denmark on holiday and sent me some things she had bought there.
A floral t towel and napkins -love the pink and blue! And a postcard. Thank you Suzie.
Knitting wise I’ve been trying to use up the 1oz vintage balls. Hat and booties in 0-3month size.
These ought to be a set really as the booties are made from both yarns.
Hat jumper and half of booties in a part wool part cortelle Littlewoods blend from the 1960s I think. Both are 0-3month size too.
Tunic hat and half of booties from 100% pure new wool. The yarn is a black and royal blue twist. Not sure of date but it was so soft.
Life here has been so busy but I had a Mole (Wind in the Willows) moment where I said “Oh bother” and left housework and watched the sun rise.
All inspired I returned to the cushions which had been lingering on the craft room floor and got them made. Above is a pic of a front and a back.
Here’s a close up of the Moda fabrics. The edge strips are Oak Leaves like the main front panels. The back I think was a Mistletoe one but the colours were right.

These oak leave appliques will be for the 2 small cushions. I used a scrap of fleece and 505 spray instead of pellon to sew through- far cheaper. I’m making the rest of the 12″ by 20″ design up as I go along. The leaves were from the left overs from the big cushions plus a little red from the scrap box.
Oh yes while in the living room I got the curtains down and tortured my shoulders resewing the side seams which had rucked up when the main fabric shrank but the lining didn’t. I found a fabric sample in my stash so washed it and added it to the bottom of all 4 curtains. I’ll give it a few days to settle before hand sewing the hems in situ. The house is Victorian so nothing is straight anymore, so I daren’t sew them to a measurement.
Remember I was showing you a panel a week? well here are Spring and Summer
Autumn and Winter in a wooden box with long leather handles
Which I bought at Birmingham Quilt Show. The quilting doesn’t show up very well. I’ve been havign to use Lovely Husband’s camera which utterly hates me as both my Olympus camera are not working. All recommendations for a twit proof camera are very welcome. We’re almost in the last 3rd of the year before Christmas.
This is goodness knows how old- I asked LH to downloads pics from his phone and this was there. Son made this as part of a group in year 7 so wow 2-3 years old! It’s a knight in shining armour made from scraps, packaging and paint.
There was also a shot of the garden too.
The apples have been dealt with the pears picked so it was time for the lavender.
It was all hands on deck to get this heap reaped and drying. We left it so late this year.

Ooo good news I now have volume and the computer back to being powered by a hamster in a wheel. The 1st thing I listened to was this:

Polka Dots and Moonbeams.

Wonderful relaxing music. I need to relax more and spend time in the craft room. I’m still working my way through the list of things I wanted to get done this year. I’m not sure I will manage it. I do want to start the year with a clean slate and just make things when I can and feel like it. This working to a list isn’t all fun but it stops me from thinking for days about what I want to make next. How do you work best?
