Knitted Egg holding Chick

I experimented with embroidering beaks and adding plumed tails on some. These were my learning curve for the following pattern.
The finished shape and one being sewn up.
Showing an egg inside.

I hurt my fragile back in the garden this morning, so had to sit still, but hating to be idle I came up with the following pattern. I bought some of these years ago for the children from an old lady in Oxford, but they got lost in the intervening years. I thought I’d make a few for Sunday but didn’t have a pattern so came up with this.
