Elemental Hares
I tried to represent the 4 elements in this -now I know how to make a felt rug.
The outer wavey blue represents water. I did sew a tiny starfish button in each of the corners after this photo was taken.
The faun with lavender spikes represents earth.
The deep red ring represents fire.
The blue the hares are dancing on represents air.
The 3 hares (triskel) are often found in Medieval churches representing the Trinity but they pre-date Christianity possibly being Eostre’s (where we get the word Easter from) sacred animal. Now called the Easter Bunny. They may also represent the circle of life.
French Knots and blanket stitch.
