Fireworks and an “Yvonne W” make.
October was a yukky month so lets welcome November in with a blast and get rid of the cobwebs.
There was a day time as well as a night time fire work competition this year.
Lots of different shapes.
I stood on the Venetian Bridge
So got beautiful reflections too.
A water vole came out of the bank and retreated back in quickly.
But he was too quick for me to photograph.
Pastel shades of fireworks!
Some traditional ones too.
The accompanying music carried over the lake water.
The Whomping Willow from Harry Potter?
We moved a little further over the bridge.
I wondered if in the 1930s when they had Venetian Nights on the lake
if they had fireworks too.
Can you imagine the scene with the fancy dress costumes coming out of the hotel into their waiting gondolas on the lake
with the skies lit up? I could.
Here is a pic of it immortalizing the scene.
Now for a little Christmas make. I am starting early as coursework is heavy going.
This is what I made for the 3 stocking buttons made by Yvonne W.
A mat showing a fireplace with an outdoor snow scene.
I was inspired by our study fireplace “Big Bertha” when choosing the fabrics.
Go here to have a look at Yvonne’s fantastic buttons. She also does commissions.
Her blog is here.
The big news about this is the quilting of the Winter scene- I made a template of a star and quilted the border in them.
An awfully big adventure for a ditch dweller!
