Road Trip 11 Alnwick Treehouse Restaurant

IMG_8447

I promised you a meal out in the Treehouse Restaurant

IMG_8448

It is built around living trees.

IMG_8449

So shall we go in?

IMG_8450

More fairy lights.

IMG_8453

Inside some people are already seated.

IMG_8455

The menu. What would you choose?

IMG_8456

IMG_8457

The covers were hand made in wood.

IMG_8458

Bespoke furniture again.

IMG_8459

I liked the mix of rustic and planed wood.

IMG_8460

Hubby chose the duck breast.

IMG_8461

I chose the Rabbit Fillet.

IMG_8462

We both chose the pan fried lamb loin with a side order of vegetables for 2 people. I think we ought to have added more potatoes as a side order too. I didn’t realise potato meant 1!

IMG_8463

The wine was good.

IMG_8464

Hubby’s creme brulee arrived with a little candle in.  I had mentioned his birthday when booking. It was a lovely special touch without being all public and cringy.

IMG_8466

Not having much of a sweet tooth I opted for the cheese.

Delicious!

IMG_8467

I bet you want to see other bits of the Treehouse,

IMG_8468

The sink in the toilets reminded me of a feeding trough.

IMG_8469

The unfinished natural mirror frame was beautiful.

IMG_8470

View of the car park.

IMG_8471

There was a walkway linking the toilet tower with an office room.

It looked private so I didn’t go any further.

IMG_8472

I went back downstairs to the restaurant.

IMG_8473

Top of the tower.

IMG_8474

We left as soon as we finished thinking to have a drink in the potting shed and free up the table for other customers.

IMG_8475

But the Potting Shed was no longer serving. It was only 9.30!

IMG_8477

So although this was meant to be the highlight of the whole trip

IMG_8480

We felt a bit peckish still, and didn’t want to finish our evening.

IMG_8487

So we walked into town to finish our evening.

IMG_8494

 I found another unusual bench.

How do you fancy a castle next time? Ok then.
